Hipotenuza

The Hipotenuza teapot began as part of the Serial Unique project from the students of the Belgrade Polytechnic College. The concept behind the project was to, without a doubt, create a truly "made in Serbia" product. This is enabled by the fact that the ceramics used in the project are unique to Serbia and are renowned globally as they retain heat much more than your typical ceramics. The teapot holds the name Hipotenuza (or Hypotenuse in English) due to its shape. Whilst the teapot is being boiled it sits upright on the stove. Once heated it is placed and served on it's side, as to ensure that the hot part of the teapot is not in contact with the surface area. The teapot was exhibited as part of the collection "Serial Unique" during Belgrade's Design Week. The teapot project was awarded "best dissertation project of the generation" at the Belgrade Polytechnic College.
